Earth Day at Oak Park

On the first Earth Day in April 1970, 22 million Americans celebrated clean air, land, and water. Join us for a chance to celebrate our community Earth Day project at Oak Park on Sunday, April 22, 2018! With nearly 9 acres, Oak Park volunteers will assist with a day of clean up, brush trimming, and new trail preparation! We are looking for volunteers to spend some time giving back to one of our favorite spots in Grand Ledge. No matter if you come by yourself or with a group there will be jobs for volunteers of all abilities to work together and improve Oak Park for the public. If you are interested in volunteering, please visit our webpage, www.cityofgrandledge.com to sign up!

What can I expect? Volunteers will be doing general park clean up, trimming back brush, and helping establish a natural path for residents and visitors to enjoy within the new, expanded Oak Park boundaries. While the event runs from 9:00 am - 1:00 pm, we welcome volunteers for any time span you are able! Wear comfortable clothes that you don't mind getting a little bit of dirt on and close-toed shoes. We are asking volunteers to bring any of the following for their own use: yard gloves, rakes, five-gallon buckets, wheelbarrows, shovels.
